A razón de 8.600 millones de euros anuales, el Gobierno federal alemán da un fuerte impulso a la renovación y el mantenimiento de su infraestructura ferroviaria, al tiempo que apuntala al operador ferroviario público y la industria del país.
El operador público español no está dispuesto a a ceder parte del capital de su división, sino que busca un aliado para impulsar el negocio del transporte ferroviario de mercancías.
Con la incorporación de la filial francesa de Deutsche Bahn, Transfesa pretende mejorar los ratios de calidad y puntualidad de su corredor ferroviario entre España y Alemania.
Desde el grupo, se muestran convencidos de que el ferrocarril cada vez atraerá más tráficos y creen que los próximos años brindarán nuevas oportunidades de crecimiento para esta industria.
En 2012, fue elegido secretario de Estado de lo que entonces era el Ministerio de Transportes, Infraestructuras y Desarrollo Urbano, y entró a formar parte del Consejo de Supervisión de Deutsche Bahn.
Las nuevas unidades disponen de GPS para facilitar el seguimiento de cada unidad, así como sensores que aportan información sobre si el vagón está lleno o vacío, su humedad o la temperatura.
El director financiero del operador, Matthias Reichel, asumirá de forma provisional las funciones de Wilder, que ocupaba el cargo desde diciembre de 2017.
