La ruta entre Huelva y Canarias de Balearia y Fred Olsen cuenta con unos volúmenes de tráfico consolidados tras cinco años de vida y con tres rotaciones semanales.
En total se llevado a cabo la descarga de 17.000 toneladas de harina ecológica y 6.000 toneladas de cascarilla, importadas por la multinacional Viterra.

El puerto de Huelva destina 596.000 euros a realizar mejoras en el alumbrado de la terminal de graneles sólidos, con el fin de optimizar el uso de esta infraestructura, mejorar el nivel de servicio y su eficiencia energética.
Se han discutido los retos y oportunidades en áreas como la reducción de emisiones, la adaptación al cambio climático, la protección de la biodiversidad y la economía circular en los puertos.
